J&K police has arrested two leaders of the moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference in two separate raids on Thursday.

They are National People's Party Chairman Syed Saleem Geelani and National Front Acting Chairman Front Abdul Qayoom. Both of them were arrested from Qalia Ander and Court Road.

Meanwhile more than a dozen prominent separatist leaders, who are trying to spoil the ongoing poll process, were arrested by Police from various parts of the state. The people arrested are from both factions of Hurriyat Conference. Hurriyat Conference has condemned the arrests. "Such methods cannot weaken the will of Hurriyat leadership and activists," a party spokesman said.
