Two held in Italy in connection with Mumbai terror attacks

Two held in Italy in connection with Mumbai terror attacksBrescia, Italy - Italian police have detained two Pakistanis in connection with the terrorist attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai last year, media reports said Saturday.

An anti-terror squad apprehended the pair in the northern city of Brescia, following a lengthy investigation, the reports said.

The two suspects are believed to have provided money to the group which organized the November 2008 attacks that left 160 dead.

The funds were transferred from Brescia to a bank account to which those held responsible for the Mumbai attacks had access.

India has accused the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) of orchestrating the Mumbai bloodbath. (dpa)
