The film Eclipse, the latest Twilight sequel was the most successful film in the box office of North America in this weekend. But even after that it fell short of the predictions made by its distributor earlier. The film has made a collection of around 162 million dollars in the US and Canada since its release in last Wednesday.

But the distributor Summit Entertainment had estimated a collection of 173 million dollars for the first five days.                  

In the month of November last year its predecessor film “New Moon” had earned around 165 million dollars in its first five days in North America.

But the Summit Entertainment has said that the forecast was a rough estimation and it is not too worried about the slower start of Eclipse than the earlier version of the film New Moon.

Summit’s president of domestic distribution, Richie Fay has said that the collection of the film had been affected by the celebrations of the US Independence Day weekend. He is expecting stronger midweek collection.

He has added that the film has to go a long way and before that we can’t say that it is falling short.
