TVS Motor pens down sound growth
Two-wheeler manufacturer, TVS Motor Company Ltd., has recorded a 34% growth its two-wheeler segment for the month of January. It managed to sell 125,278 units as against 93,279 units in the corresponding period of last year.
Most of this rise has been possible due to voluminous demand rise in the domestic segment, where TVS managed to sell 109,504 units in January as against 79,729 units last year. In the motorcycle sales alone, it grew by 24%, selling 54,698 units.
But two-wheelers is not the only segment where the company has done well. Even in the three wheeler segment it clocked sales which are seven times higher than the last year. It sold 1,710 units for the period of April2009-January
2010 as against 466 units for the same period last year.
That’s not all; the company has also clocked a robust growth in the export market as well with growth of 15% by selling no less than 16,704 units of two wheelers against 14,000 units in the corresponding period of last year.
The numbers are very encouraging keeping in mind that the two-wheeler segment has seen tremendous rise in competition with big players like Hero Honda and Bajaj holding major shares.
