Festive season is around the corner and where Indian market resorts to offer something for everyone, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) offers one such great news for all the SUV lovers when a new version of the Scorpio was launched in Pune and Bangalore earlier this week.

The Auto major comes up with its first Indian sports utility vehicle (SUV) and is enjoying the status of becoming the only SUV in India to feature a Six-speed Automatic Transmission. It is equipped with in-built intelligent driving modes for an effortless drive and a wide array of smart features loaded with the 2.2-Litre mHawk powerplant, its  available in the VLX and the VLS variants, with VLX model being priced at Rs 10.75 lakhs (ex-showroom , Pune) while the VLS model has a slightly cheaper price-tag of Rs 10.24 lakhs (exshowroom, Pune).  

"The new Scorpio Automatic has been designed to make driving an effortless experience, allowing one to focus on the drive rather than gear section," M&M Ltd Automative Sector President Pawan Goenka said.  

Feedback from various existing customers and prospective buyers of frequent complaints of inconvenience while driving in congested traffic conditions and gear changes during slow moving traffic was taken into account and led to the decision of coming forth with the new model. The company also aims to lure the fairer sex by highlighting the new car's easy-to-drive factor and comfort.  

An Australian based firm named Drivetrain Systems International (DSI) has sourced its transmission technology and components .The Sixspeed transmission features built-in intelligent drive modes to suit the driving conditions and an anti-roll back mechanism while in the 'Drive' mode.  

The model also features the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) technology that does not allow the gear lever to be released out of the 'Park' position unless the driver applies the brake. Improvisation has been done on the airconditioning system too and thus has enhanced the new Scorpio and the centre console also by giving it an all new look. The car will carry all the other state-ofthe-art technologies seen on the VLX and VLS trims of the mHawk Scorpio.

The All New Scorpio is thus a treat for all those prospective buyers who’ve been looking forward for an SUV that promises not only a wonderful driving experience but also the incomparable looks to die for.
