Top ten technology institutes has six IIT colleges
A latest survey has put forward the fact that at least six of the top ten institutes in India are from the well reputed Indian Institute of Technology.
As per the 5th IDC-Dataquest T-School 2009 Survey of 111 engineering colleges across the country, if arranged in descending order, the top position is occupied by the IIT- Kharagpur, followed by IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras, IIT-Kanpur, IIT- Roorkee and IIT-Guwahati
The survey did not see participation by IIT-Bombay, explained the global market intelligence provider IDC.
IIIT, Hyderabad, which is the newest T-School, established in 1998, in the top 10 list, was described as the seventh best technology institute of the country by the survey report, which put BITS Pilani after it.
The report put BITS Pilani close behind, which is the National Institute of Technology (NIT). After this come Surathkal and the Institute of Technology (IT) of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.
