Ace Kollywood superstar Rajnikanth turned 58 on December 12, 2008.

The legendary actor, who started his career as a villain in flicks like 16 Vayadhinilae, Moondru Mudichu and Avargal, took birth in Nachikuppam, near Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu.

With electrifying screen presence mixed with heroism, peppy songs and famous punch lines, he is the first Tamil actor, who not only got recognition as a hero in Bollywood, but also grabbed the attention of international viewers.

The king of South India’s big screen, has done some 153 movies in his career span of 33 years and has reached out to the mass audiences with his stylish action and more number of hits than any other actor.

According to sources, apart from film actor, Rajinikanth also worked as a screenwriter, film producer and also a playback singer. He is a well known philanthropist and also serves as a notable political influence.

But among all the gloom, Rajnikanth still remains to be the undisputed king at the Tollywood Box-Office.
