Three dead, over 20 injured in Baghdad attacks

Iraq MapBaghdad - In a continuation of the spate of bombings that have rocked the Iraqi capital since the beginning of the week, three people were killed and more than 20 civilians were wounded on Tuesday in attacks in Baghdad, police said.

A bomb went off near a vehicle that belonged to the Iraqi Electricity Ministry near the al-Khayyam building in al-Khillani square, the Iraqi Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency reported.

A number of ministry staff were among the victims.

The attack came shortly after two bombs exploded moments after each other next to a newspaper stand on a square in eastern Baghdad, killing three and wounding 17.

Tuesday's attacks come just one day after sequential suicide attacks in a Baghdad market on Monday left some 30 people dead and at least 68 wounded. (dpa)
