Texas Couple Marries While Bride Was In Labor
A Texas couple tied knot juts few hours before their baby was born. Originally the couple had planned to get married before the birth of their baby, but they said they never expected they would say their vows in the hospital.
Stephanie Tallent and Jason Nece said they had a regular scheduled ultrasound appointment on Friday at the Texas Children’s Pavilion for Women when they learned that Stephanie was in labor.
As the couple had wedding plans earlier they quickly arranged everything needed and decided to exchange vows in the hospital itself before their baby comes into this world.
Stephanie was 36 weeks pregnant and already 5 centimeters dilated. The hospital's chaplain was called and the staff helped arrange a ceremony complete with flowers and an acapella serenade as the couple exchanged vows.
The bride wore a white sun dress which she had in her car which she planned to drop off at the dry cleaners. Their marriage certificates were in the vehicle, as they had picked them up just the day before.
Stephanie's doctor walked her down the aisle of the clinic to an assessment room as a nurse played the Wedding March on her cellphone.
Another nurse reportedly lent the bride a pearl necklace and added a piece of blue ribbon to her bouquet as her ‘something blue’.
Soon after the ceremony, Stephanie was admitted to the preoperative area of the hospital labor and delivery unit. Her daughter was breech and she needed to have a C-section.
Few hours later, the couple welcomed their first daughter together. The baby was named Sophia Avis Marie Nece and weighed 6 pounds and 3 ounces.
