Telecom stocks perform well post 3G auction
With the 3G auction finally coming to an end, the telecom companies were able to gather heat on the Indian bourses today.
The markets reacted on a positive note to the 3G auction and pushed the market up. Along with that the stocks of the telecom companies made money, even though many experts believed that the 3G spectrum turned out to be too costly for the companies.
The analysts also said that to be able to pay off the price of the spectrum that has been quoted by Indian firms, they will have to face heavy debt situation.
The spectrums were able to generate a close to a whopping figure of Rs. 70,000 crore by selling the spectrum. This money was generated in the stipulated period of 10 days.
On Thursday, at 12:00 the stocks of the companies which are dealing with the spectrum were in the green. This includes Reliance Communications, Bharti Airtel and Idea.
These companies have been able to put their hands on a major chunk of the spectrum. Even the price of MTNL, which has already been allotted 3G and did not have to buy it, increased 1.5 percent.
