The leading manufacturer of mobile phones – Nokia has declared that it has sold its enterprise mobile TV unit to India based Wipro Technologies. Wipro has also confirmed that it has purchased Nokia Mobile TV Broadcast Solution, offering enterprise Mobile TV solutions.

According to Wipro, Nokia Mobile TV Broadcast unit had around 40 employees, who had been developing software and hardware to help mobile TV technology on the mobile phones to locate and access data from a broadcasting network.

Sony Corporation has inadvertently invited the wrath of many Hindu groups by releasing its new video console game “Hanuman: Boy Warrior” for its PlayStation2. The Hindus from many parts of the world are feeling hurt and angry that Sony has used the Hindu god as the protagonist in the video game.

Hindus have launched protest movements against Sony, demanding the immediate removal of the video game from the market. The US and Australia-based Hindu groups have started online protest campaign against Sony.

One of the largest companies of Sweden – Ericsson is all set to grab a multimillion dollar GSM rollout contract from Swan Telecom. The Business Line has reported that Ericsson is set to get the contract for rolling out cellular network for Swan Telecom.

According to the report, Swan Telecom is expected to give the contract for the network rollout to two companies, and Ericsson will be one of the two companies; Ericsson will certainly get the part of the Swan contract.   

Nainital, Apr 20 : Authorities in Nainital have decided to install Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at several crowded places as precautionary measure and to prevent untoward incidents.

About five CCTV cameras have been installed across the hill resort for keeping a watch on the everyday incidents and also to solve problems like traffic jams and pick-pocketing.

Sprint has started tooting is bugle about the launch of the Palm Pre, which is expected to hit the market next month. The Overland Park, Kansas based wireless telecommunications service provider, Sprint is reportedly gearing up for May 17 launch of the Palm Pre.

Sprint and Palm are both hoping big from Palm Pre. Palm is touting that the Palm Pre is the phone that thinks ahead to make users' life easier, while Sprint is claiming that the Palm Pre is going to be showstopper; is going to freeze vacation in May.
