The Reserve Bank of India may again revise key interest rates by around 50 basis points in next couple of days at a time when inflation rate reduced to 0.44 per cent and country is moving toward deflation.

The significant decline in inflation gives enough room to Apex bank for interest rate revision in order to stimulate demand in the economy, facing the heat of global slowdown. However, the central bank is unlikely to revise cash reserve ratio and statutory liquid ration according to the officials of finance ministry.

Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on Saturday, was taken to AIIMS for a routine health check up.

The 84-year-old Vajpayee has been admitted to AIIMS nearly three weeks after getting discharged from the hospital.

Dr. D K Sharma, Medical Superintendent AIIMS, said, “He will stay in the hospital for two days during which these follow-up tests will be conducted for him.”

In a shocking development, a 12 year old girl student died and 27 others were hospitalized after being administered a shot of Rubella vaccine in Sri Lanka's Matara district.

The girl, Piyasala Hansani, died at his school St. Thomas' Girls School, about 160 km south of the capital Colombo.

It can be recalled that nearly 300 students of the school were given vaccine after which some students had fallen ill and were admitted to the hospital.
