New Delhi, Jan 12 : Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major today said that the IAF is prepared to meet any eventuality.

He was visiting the National Cadet Corps (NCC) camp here today.

The camp has been organised for the NCC cadets participating in the Republic Day parade to be held here later this month.

Replying to a question regarding India''s war preparedness in the wake of the recent Mumbai attacks, Air Chief Marshal Major said that his force is ready for all options.

New Delhi, Jan. 12 : The Defence Avionics Research Establishment, a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), which is based in Bangalore, has developed an indoor Antenna Test Range facility to characterize both the Electronic Support Measure [ESM] and Electronic Counter Measure [ECM] antennas, which are first of its kind in India.

A DRDO release said M. Natarajan, Scientific Advisor to the Defence MInister, inaugurated the facility today in the presence of Dr. Prahlada, Chief Controller, DRDO and Dr. U. K Revanker, Director, DARE, Bangalore.

New Delhi, Jan 12 : British Foreign Secretary David Miliband will arrive here on a three-day visit tomorrow to express solidarity with India over the Mumbai terror attacks.

During his visit, Miliband will meet External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram. He is also expected to call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.

He is also scheduled to hold talks with a group of young Parliamentarians on climate change and security issues.

Miliband will also visit Mumbai where he will address meetings at the Hotel Taj Mahal and Hotel Trident, sites of the Mumbai terror attacks.

New Delhi, Jan 12 : Union Water Resources Minister Professor Saifuddin Soz today said the India is making serious efforts to address numerous challenges in water resources sector with due emphasis on the sustainability of the eco-system in the larger interests of mankind.

Inaugurating the International Conference on Water, Environment, Energy and Society (WEES-2009) here today, Soz said population growth is a contributing factor to the per capita availability of water reducing day by day.

New Delhi, Jan 12 : The Government has promulgated the Central Industrial Security Force (Amendment) Ordinance, 2009 to allow the fore to provicde security to the private sector.

With the growing threat of terrorist outfits, the industries in the private sector and joint venture, which have contributed to the growth of economy, also require assurance of security, a government release said.

Therefore, the relevant sections of the CISF Act, 1968 have been amended to enable the deployment of CISF for security of private sector and joint venture enterprises on cost reimbursement basis.

New Delhi, Jan 12 : Hollywood actress Lindsay Lohan is `in denial' about her split from lover Samantha Ronson, according to reports.

It was recently suggested that the `Mean Girls' actress was unable to come to terms with the split with Samantha, and that she had been spending ample time with Sean Penn after the lesbian couple's split.

However, Lindsay has now rebuffed the split reports on her MySpace blog and branded the reports "Gross", reports the China Daily.
