New Delhi, Sept. 4 : The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday said that the release of the letter sent by the Bush administration to Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee on January 16 this year, by Rep. Howard L Berman, the present Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, completely exposes the Government of India and the fraudulent claims it has been making about the merits of the US-India nuclear deal.

New Delhi, Sep 4 : Amid continued reservations of some member countries over granting waiver to India, the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) will hold a crucial two-day meeting in Vienna from today to consider the initiative.

The NSG will consider a revised draft that is being presented before the 45-nation grouping after amendments following demands by at least 15 countries during the August 21-22 meeting.

Countries like New Zealand and Austria, which are still not satisfied with the revised draft, are expected to voice their concerns over non-proliferation issues.

New Delhi, Sept 3 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Wednesday visited Kamalamma Sharada Prasad and conveyed his condolences to her and other family members on the passing away of H. Y. Sharada Prasad.

In his condolence message the Prime Minister recalled Prasad’s association with the freedom struggle and his service and dedication to the country.

New Delhi, Sept 3 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Wednesday said that he fully understood the anguish expressed by many people over the violent incidents in Orissa and said the Centre is monitoring the situation in the State.

The Prime Minister was replying to a letter from Sister Nirmala of the Missionaries of Charity. He said it has been emphasised to the state authorities that every step must be taken to restore normalcy.

New Delhi, Sept 3 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Wednesday issued an appeal to all citizens to donate generously to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help fund the relief and rehabilitation measures for the flood affected people of Bihar.

The contributions can be made by cheque or draft in the name of “The Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund” and sent to the Prime Minister’s Office, South Block, New Delhi 110001. As per directions on the subject the nationalised banks are not to charge any commission on preparation of drafts favouring the PMNRF.
