New Delhi, Mar 6 : The Supreme Court will on March 30 hear a petition filed by Bollywood actor-turned-politician Sanjay Dutt seeking a stay on his conviction under the Arms Act in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case

A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan issued notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and sought its reply on the plea of Dutt.

On Thursday, Dutt, who was named by the Samajwadi Party as its candidate for the forthcoming general elections, moved the Supreme Court.

New Delhi, Mar. 6 : Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama has said that there is no scope for force, violence or terror for resolution of any issue in this globalize world.

He stressed on the need of initiating dialogue for addressing disagreements or dissatisfaction of any particular group of people to attain a peaceful solution.

New Delhi, Mar. 6 : Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi has rejected reports that the IPL 2009 is moving out of the country if the government doesn't provide enough security.

"Reports of moving venues out of India are rubbish. IPL is a domestic tournament and will stay so," said Modi.

Various media reports had claimed that the UAE and some Western countries are ready to host the cash-rich Twenty20 event, and that Modi was threatening the government about the possibility of moving it overseas.

New Delhi, Mar 6 : Pakistan's former President Pervez Musharraf will arrive here this afternoon to attend the ''India Today'' Conclave.

Musharraf will share the dais with several dignitaries including External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama and Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.

This year's theme of the conclave is `Challenges of Change'.

The former President is also scheduled to visit the Aligarh Muslim University for a lecture.

Continuing its downward journey, the wholesale price index based inflation rate touched seven year low of 3.03% for the week ended February 21. The annual inflation rate was at 3.36% a week before while at 5.69% during the same period last year.

Decline in prices of food articles, metals and transportation articles helped to reduce the inflation at seven year low, a big respite to UPA government, which is going to face public opinion in the forthcoming general elections in April-May period.

New Delhi, Mar 5 : The Indian government on Thursday rejected a proposal by the US collector to halt the controversial auction of Gandhi's iconic round glasses.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said India cannot enter into such agreements where it involves specific areas of allocation of resources.
