As an ode to the dynamism of the city, a two-day music festival will take place at the Town Hall this weekend. Mumbai Sanskruti will feature musicians such as Ustad Rashid Khan, percussionists Sivamani andV Selvaganesh, Niladri Kumar, and Louiz Banks.
To know what the festival means as a musician, After Hrs spoke to a few artistes who are slated to perform that day.
Says electronic sitarist Niladri Kumar, "We will be playing fusion music that combines the talents of various musicians. Mumbai as a city is the most befitting example of authentic cultures. And the best part about this festival is that it's not celebrating one aspect of music such as jazz, or Indian classical or blues, but represents the spirit of music as a whole."
