George Harrison gets star on Hollywood Walk of FameLondon, Apr 15 : A posthumous star for the late Beatle George Harrison was unveiled yesterday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The event was attended by hundreds of fans and friends including Paul McCartney.

Harrison''s star was unveiled in front of the Capitol Records building as McCartney, one of only two surviving Beatles, looked on.

Also present were Harrison''s widow, Olivia, Harrison''s son, Dhani, musicians Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne and actor Tom Hanks, reports The Telegraph.

Harrison, who died of cancer in 2001, already shares a Walk of Fame star with all four of the Beatles.

After the April 14 ceremony, he and John Lennon will be the only The Beatles entertainers to have their own stars.

Ex-Beatle George Harrison to get Hollywood star Los Angeles - George Harrison, the former Beatle who died of cancer in 2001, is to get a star on Hollywood's walk of fame later this month, it was announced Friday.

The former lead guitarist for the legendary band will get his posthumous star on April 14, with wife Olivia and son Dhani accepting the honour in his name. The event is timed to coincide with the launch by Capitol Records of a previously unreleased Harrison music project and a forthcoming documentary on the guitarist by Martin Scorsese.
