Proctor & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd plans to launch personal health care and feminine care products developed by its parent company, Proctor & Gamble in the Indian market shortly.

Bentley launches ‘Continental Flying Spur’ priced@ Rs 2.5 crore

Super luxury carmaker Bentley announced the launch of its new model, Continental Flying Spur, which can make 100kmph in 4.2 seconds and reach its top speed at 322kmph.

The new model is priced at Rs. 2.5 crores (ex-showroom Delhi).

Though the economy is slowing down rapidly, Bentley plans to increase its focus on emerging markets, such as India to boost sales. The company sees India as a ‘key market’, and remains bullish on the market.  

With the launch of the new Speed variant, the company is targeting about 10 units of the Flying Spur family in the domestic market.

Besides the new car, Bentley sells four other cars in the Indian market. The company hopes to sell at least 10 models in India.

Mittal, Tata Eye 18 CIL Underground Mines

An interest has been shown by the world’s two leading steel companies Mittal, Tata Eye 18 CIL Underground MinesLuxembourg-based ArcelorMittal and India’s Tata Steel, in mining coal in partnership with Coal India Ltd from the latter’s 18 forsaken underground mines with the aim to secure reserves of coking coal, a key input needed to make steel. 

In less than six months, the price of the coking coal in international market has more than doubled to $300-350 per tonne, and this has motivated the steelmakers worldwide to scout for reserves across the globe. 

No bid price increase for Axon, says Infosys

Indian outsource group Infosys has informed that it would not raise the bid No bid price increase for Axon, says Infosysprice of 600 pence a share for UK-based Axon, a move which rules it out from the battle to acquire the SAP firm.

After careful consideration, the board of Infosys has concluded this final decision, that it will not increase the price of its original offer dated August 25, 2008.

Last month, HCL Technologies had increased the bid to 650 pence per share for Axon valuing the company at 441.1 million pounds, at a premium of 8.3 per cent to Infosys' bid, worth 407.1 million pounds.

Wockhardt Inks Licensing Pact With UK-Based Sinclair Pharma

India Pharmaceutical major Wockhardt Limited has signed an in-licensing Wockhardt Inks Licensing Pact With UK-Based Sinclair Pharmapact with UK-based Sinclair Pharma, to market a range of dermatology and dental products in Indian market. 

The 10-year exclusivity agreement covers a broad range of patented and innovative products, including Papulex, Atopiclair, Aloclair and Decapinol range. 

Further, the agreement also envisages that Wockhardt manufacture the formulation in India from bulk imported from Sinclair Pharma. 

IDBI Fortis Life Insurance Intends To Open 100 Branches Across Country

IDBI Fortis Life Insurance has informed that the company will shortly open IDBI Fortis Life Insurance Intends To Open 100 Branches Across Country24 branches, including six in Tamil Nadu, to expand its footprints in the southern region. 

The company, a joint venture of IDBI, Federal Bank and Fortis, Europe's banking and insurance firm, has launched its operations in March, this fiscal. 

Under its proposed expansion plan, the firm intends to open 100 branches across the country in coming months.
