Pak Taliban warn NWFP govt of attacks

Khar, July 23 : After the expiry of its deadline on July 21, the TTP (Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan) has once again warned the NWFP government that if it did not stop the military operation in Hangu, Swat and other areas, it will launch severe attacks on government establishments and officials.

TTP spokesman Maulvi Umar told newsmen on phone from an unspecified place that the NWFP government was “responsible for the military operation” in the areas under its control.

He regretted the response of the provincial government to the TTP’s deadline, and said that due to sensitivity of the situation, the government should have shown flexibility and given a positive response to Taliban’s ultimatum.

Two NATO aircraft violate Pak airspace on Monday nightMiranshah (Pakistan), July 23 : In yet another similar incident over the past few days, two NATO aircraft intruded into Pakistani air space late on Monday night in North Waziristan.

According to Pakistan government officials, the NATO aircraft violated Pakistani airspace in Lawara Mandi, Datta Khel, Ghulam Khan and Saidgi areas, close to Pak-Afghan border around 11 pm on Monday night.

Both the aircraft flew over these areas for about 25 minutes and returned to the Afghan side of the border without any action, the officials said.

Karachi, July 23:Asif Ali Zardari’s chief security officer killed Unidentified gunmen killed the chief security officer of PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari last evening in Karachi. After being fired at by the assailants, he was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to bullet injuries.

According to officials, the assailants fired for two-three minutes and used an SMG rifle, .222 rifle and 9mm pistols.
