Islamabad, Nov. 20 : Pakistan may raise the recent findings of the Maharashtra''s Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) indicating a probable involvement of the Indian Army''s Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Shrikant Purohit in the Samjhauta Express blasts incident during the scheduled meeting between Interior Secretaries of India and Pakistan to be held in Islamabad on November 25.

Peshawar, Nov 20 : Mass exodus of people continues from militancy-hit spots of the Mohmand Agency to safer places, amid security forces’ attacks on militants’ hideouts in different tribal areas.

Security forces targeted the militants’ positions in Qandaro, Dawaizai, Pandyalai and Michni areas with artillery, but report about casualties could not be confirmed due to dysfunctional communication system in these areas, The News quoted sources as saying.

Islamabad  , Nov 20 : The Pakistan government is learnt to have decided to immediately allow imports of 25,000 metric tons of petrol and 50,000 metric tons of high-speed diesel to avert an impending shortfall of fuels.

According to the Dawn, the decision was taken at a meeting of the Oil Companies Advisory Committee (OCAC), Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan Arab Refinery

Lahore, Nov 20 : Pakistan President Asif Zardari is learnt to have called up PML-N leader and former premier Nawaz Sharif last evening to convey his “strong displeasure” over distribution of “immoral” photographs of Governor Salman Taseer’s son by Punjab Law Minister to the media recently.

The Punjab Government, led by Nawaz’s brother Shahbaz Sharif, is known to be irked by alleged unwanted political interference into government’s day-to-day work by the Governor.

New York, Nov 20: Pakistan ambassador to the US Hussain Haqqani has demanded that “terror suspect” Dr Aafia Siddiqui (put in a US jail and facing trial) should be immediately repatriated to Pakistan, after an American court found her “mentally” unfit to stand trial.

In a letter to the American government, Haqqani urged the US administration to arrange for an “immediate repatriation” of Siddiqui so that she could be looked after in her home country.

Brussels, Nov 20 : Pakistan Army Chief Gen. Ashfaq Kayani has reportedly said that NATO should try to win the support of tribesmen in order to stop the Taliban crossing over the international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

He said that the NATO should engage Pashtuns living in the areas along the Pak-Afghan border rather than simply try to seal the border to stop Taliban crossing over.

Quoting a private TV channel report, the Daily Times reported that Kayani urged the NATO Defence Committee in Brussels to halt the use of spy planes inside Pakistani territory. Kayani also vowed to keep the supply line to NATO open.
