India releases Pakistani boy with Bollywood dreams

Shahrukh_Khan_SRKWagah Border (Amritsar), Nov 21 : The 15-year-old Pakistani boy, Nasir Sultan, who had illegally crossed over to India to meet Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, was released after nearly three months of detention and sent back to his country on Friday.

Sultan crossed over to Pakistan at Wagah border check post.

Eight killed in suicide bombing at Pakistan funeral

Pakistan MapIslamabad - At least eight people were killed and 23 injured Friday when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a Shia Muslim funeral in Pakistan's North-West Frontier Province, officials said.

An angry crowd took to the streets after the blast in Dera Ismail Khan, and some people fired guns into the air in the city, which is 300 kilometres south of the provincial capital, Peshawar, and has been the scene of sectarian violence between Shia and Sunni Muslims in the past.

A small crowd also threw stones at police outside the hospital.

The attack sparked an outbreak of shooting around the hospital where the dead and wounded were brought, and police fired tear gas in an attempt to restore order, an Express TV report quoted journalists at the scene, as saying.

Asif was detained at the Dubai airport for 19 days for carrying a drug-like substance.

Following his detention, the Board had hired the legal firm “Afridi and Angel” to represent him in the case contested with the Dubai police.

UN dubs US’ air strikes on Pak tribal areas “a bilateral issue”

Lahore, Nov 21: The United Nations has reportedly said that the US drone strikes inside the Pakistani territory were a “bilateral issue” between the two countries, and that they must themselves resolve the issue.

“The two countries must resolve the issue through dialogue,” the Daily Times quoted a UN spokesman as saying in an interview with a TV channel.

The issue of US air strikes on Pakistan has lately rocked the ties between the two countries, with Islamabad making repeated requests to Washington to stop them saying that they were an attack on its sovereignty. Pakistan officials have also often said that the US attacks were generating anti-US sentiments making it difficult for the federal government to convince its citizens.
