U.S. has very few options in Pakistan, says expert

Islamabad, PakistanWashington, Feb. 9 : An Islamabad-based defense analyst, Ayesha Siddiqa, has said the United States has very few options in Pakistan.

Speaking ahead of the visit of Richard C. Holbrooke to Pakistan, the Washington Post quoted her as saying: "It (the United States) could increase economic aid rather than military aid to its ally, or resurrect George W. Bush''s ''with us or against us'' rhetoric and put greater pressure on Pakistan to deliver."

Chris Brown under investigation over alleged assault

Washington, Feb 9 : Pop star Chris Brown is being investigated by the L. A police department after an unnamed woman accused him of domestic abuse.

According to sources, the unnamed is superstar Rihanna.

The police statement said Brown and a woman were in a vehicle near Hollywood''s Hancock Park when `they became involved in an argument.'

A woman with visible injuries identified Brown as her attacker but the pop star had already left the scene when authorities arrived.

Now, he is being investigated by the LAPD for an alleged domestic violence termed the `felony battery' offence.

However, some sources are claiming that Brown is incapable of committing such a ghastly act.

Mama whales teach babies where to eat

Washington, Feb 9 : Biologists at the University of Utah, US, have discovered that young "right whales" learn from their mothers where to eat in the seas.

The new study used genetic and chemical isotope evidence to show that mothers teach their calves where to go for food.

"Southern right whales consume enormous amounts of food and have to travel vast distances to find adequate amounts of small prey," said study coauthor Jon Seger, professor of biology at the University of Utah.

"This study shows that mothers teach their babies in the first year of life where to go to feed in the immensity of the ocean," he added.
