The Indian team failed to capitalize on its lead of 1-0 till the half time as the Pakistan players showcased a brilliant fight back to level the score at 2-2 at the final whistle.

Pak captain, Haseem Khan then produced a golden goal in the extra time which shattered the hope of the Indian squad of winning the title.

Kuala Lumpur - A Malaysian man was hit by pellets believed to be from the shotgun of nearby deer hunters when he went looking for frogs, a news report said Sunday.

The victim, 46, was hunting for frogs Friday night in the northern Kedah state when he was shot in the buttocks, the News Straits Times daily reported.

"I was approaching a river when I heard a gunshot. Suddenly I felt a sharp pain on my left buttock," he said.

The victim sought the help of a friend by mobile phone and was rushed to a hospital.

Dhaka  - Bangladesh Thursday asked Malaysian authorities to revise a decision that cancelled visas of some 55,000 Bangladeshi workers in the wake of global recession.

"We expect something positive after the upcoming Malaysian national elections as we have started negotiations," Bangladesh's junior minister for foreign affairs, Hasan Mahmud said.

In intense diplomatic efforts, the Bangladesh government formally requested Kuala Lumpur to take Bangladesh workers, thousands of whom were ready to fly now.

Petaling Jaya (Malaysia), Mar 12 : The family of Malay Indian A. Kugan, whose custodial death has created a public uproar in Malaysia, has no confidence in the independent inquiry to be initiated by the Health Ministry.

The Star quoted the family''''s lawyer, N. Surendran, as saying that the family wants the Malaysia Medical Council (MMC) to conduct a probe, adding that the Health Ministry is biased in the matter.

Kuala Lumpur, Mar 12 : Human Resources Minister Dr S. Subramaniam has said that the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) will rebuild 40 Tamil schools with additional RM50m under the second economic stimulus package.

Dr. Subramaniam said in the first economic stimulus package, the Government had allocated RM50mil for Tamil schools, while RM30mil was approved by the Finance Ministry before the March 8 general election.
