Tata Nano production in top gear!

Tata NanoWhile the company started by selling peanuts in terms of the Nano sales but Tata Motors is believed to be drawing up an aggressive roadmap for the Nano. In fact, the monthly sales are now beginning to touch a point of 9,000 units a month.

In fact, industry watchers are echoing views that the company could even be targeting annual capacity of 5,00,000 units at its Sanand plant in Gujarat over the next five years which comes out as monthly output of 40,000 cars by
2014.

It may be noted here that the Alto from Maruti-Suzuki is the country's largest selling model at present with sales averaging nearly 25,000 units a month.

There is no denying to the fact that the sky is the limit for a car that is priced under Rs 2 lakh and the task on hand is to ensure that every nook and corner of the country is covered to reach out to the Nano buyer.

One can judge the sentiment by the fact that even after losing out valuable time between the closure of the original location at Singur in West Bengal and the shift to Sanand, the company is very bullish on the success of the Nano in the major, global markets.
