Tata housing aims to launch 10 new projects

Tata-HousingAfter targeting the common man with its people's car, Tata Nano, the Group is now eying to launch affordable housing projects under its real estate subsidiary, Tata Housing in the Indian market. In fact, it is believed that the company is going to invest around Rs. 1,200 crore in the new 10 projects. While it is expected to be mix across segments, experts are of a view that a major focus will be on Affordable housing.

Tata Housing Development Company Managing Director and CEO Brotin Banerjee have recently said that the company will acquire around 100 million square feet of land in this fiscal.

Banerjee further added that some of the new projects will be in JV agreements with its partners while some of them will be standalone projects from the door of Tata housing. The company will be launching its new projects in Chennai, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmadabad and Bangalore. The company will be arranging the funding for these projects with a mix of internal accruals, sales revenues and debt.

It may be noted here that the company launched a 1,300-unit low-cost housing project, which offered a room and a kitchen, at under the Rs 3.9 lakh tag with the 'Shubh Griha' brand at Boisar that is around 100km far from the busy city of Mumbai.
