“This is the eighth sports bike I have owned and is the fastest one. I have been to Goa on this bike and it was one of my most memorable trips. I reached a top speed of 310 km/h once when I had taken the bike on the expressway. Speed is what I like and I would always prefer a sports bike instead of a cruise bike.”

Bike CV

Who am I?

I am Suzuki’s GSX-R1000, also known as the sports bike king. Some of my rivals come close, but all things considered, there’s just nothing on the market to touch my all-round brilliance. That makes me the best selling bike in the UK.

When you twist your wrist I will obey your commands right there and then. Make no mistake I am a 998 cc bike that will alter your mind if you start giving it handfuls of throttle. You can never get used to my speed.

It won’t matter much if there are a few corners on your route either, my chassis is as impressive as the engine and good enough to keep your average speed on record pace.

But, and that’s a but entirely conditional on you being able to stay very, very disciplined with your right wrist, I do have a nice and more polite side too. I am designed to provide the horsepower junkie with unlimited BHP by providing a turbo system that initially will supply 250bhp on your GSXR1000 for a low 6psi of boost but with the secondary fuelling computer will power a prepared engine to over 450bhp.

This gives you the opportunity to have multi level boost selection from as little as 230bhp up to 450 bhp with the race ball bearing turbocharger. You choose your power!

Mean machine

I am a liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16v, in-line four. With a compression of 12.5:1 and injection fuel system, my bore x stroke is 73.4 x 59.0 mm.

Bodily measures

I weigh about 166.0 kg with a seat height of 810mm and an overall height, length and width of 1, 130mm, 2, 030mm and 710 mm, respectively. With a ground clearance of 130 mm and a wheelbase of 1,405 mm

Chassis and dimensions

I have a fuel capacity of 18 litres and front and rear tyre dimensions of 120/70-ZR17 and 190/50-ZR17, respectively. An Aluminium twin-spar chassis and a suspension front of 43mm USD telescopic forks, fully adjustable is what I own. My brakes front is dual 310mm discs, four-piston radial callipers and rear is 220mm disc, twin-piston calliper.
