Swift gets faster with time
Maruti Suzuki's Swift that recently completed its five years in the Indian market is well on its way to become a legendary model for the domestic market leader in the Indian market. Like almost all global legendary cars, the Maruti Suzuki Swift also does not show signs of ageing or slowing down with time.
In fact, the sales of the models are getting faster by the day. The product that was launched in 2005 marked the entry of the most expensive hatchback model by Maruti Suzuki in the Indian market.
It has not only outshined its cheaper siblings like the A star, Estilo, M800 and Ritz during these years, but has also become the most successful model for the company after the best-selling Alto. It may be noted here that when Swift was launched, only Getz was there as its counterpart but it is now being phased out.
Moreover, with over 4.5 lakh Swifts on the Indian roads, the car still has a waiting period of 1 to 4 months. The company had initially rejected the design of the Swift keeping in mind that it was too radical for the Indian consumer but later planned to go ahead with it.
