Super Smash Bros Brawl to feature whooping 36 playable charactersThe Super Smash Bros Brawl will feature an impressive line of 36 playable characters allowing gamyers to play the game with characters like Ness and Lucas, Diddy and Donkey Kong, and Marth and Ike.

It was announced during the E3 conference that Nintendo was working on a new Super Smash Bros game. It was later revealed that the company would release versions for both 3DS and Wii U. Super Smash Bros director Masahiro Sakurai has released several teases and updates about the Super Smash Bros Brawl.

Sakurai said, "It isn't a matter of `if the next game has 50 characters, that'll be enough.' There is a certain charm to games that have huge casts of playable characters, but they tend to have issues with game balance and it becomes very difficult to fine-tune each character and have them all feel distinctive."

The original Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64 offered gamers the option to play with 12 playable characters from a variety of Nintendo franchises. The Super Smash Bros. Melee offered 25 playable characters. The latest version will offer an even higher number of playable characters allowing users to experience the game levels in many more different ways.
