Sun TV Q2 Net At Rs 80.16 Crore
Chennai-based firm, Sun TV Network has announced better-than-expected results for the three months period (second quarter) ended September 30, 2007 with an increase in net profit to Rs 80.16 crore compared to Rs 47.96 crore.
The company owned by Kalanidhi Maran has recorded a total income of Rs 208.76 crore, as against Rs 105.90 crore in the same period, last fiscal.
The Madras High Court had approved the company’s appeal for amalgamation of the previous GTPL and the Satellite Television business of UTPL on March 29, 2007, with an agreed date of April 1, 2006.
The recent quarterly results also take in the GTPL and UTPL results and are therefore, not comparable with the corresponding period that does not consist of the same.
Sun TV Network is a Indian cable television network based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1992, and provides a plethora of TV channels in 4 languages covering the whole of South India.
The company’s shares were trading down 2.27 per cent at Rs 329 at the BSE.
