Suicide bomb kills policeman, injures two Iraqis in Falluja Baghdad - A suicide bomber blew himself up on Friday, killing a policeman and wounding two tribal chief guards in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, according to a police source.

The attack targeted the house of Sheikh Talib al-Hassnawi al- Issawi, head of Albu-Eissa tribe, west of Falluja city, the source told the Voices of Iraq news agency. The two injured Iraqis were guards of al-Issawi.

"Police forces clashed with the bomber for around 30 minutes, before he blew up an explosive belt strapped to his body," the source added.

In the south, a civilian was killed and another wounded by unknown gunmen in northwest of Hilla, the capital of Babel. The gunmen opened fire at the civilian's car and then fled, a police source said.

Also on Friday, the US army said that a US soldier died in central Iraq from non-combat related causes, raising US fatalities in March to six soldiers.

The death, which took place on Thursday, brings the number of US soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003 to 4,260. (dpa)
