Strong Sales in First Six Months increase manufacturers’ confidence to have even Better Finish to Year

Things have been going smooth when it comes to auto industry. On Wednesday, automakers posted good US vehicle sales for June. They have even predicted that things will further improve as the year approaches its end.

Experts have affirmed that there are a number of factors driving up the sales of vehicles. To cite an example, low gasoline prices and interest rates have been boosting sales of sport utility vehicles.

“Auto sales continue to push higher and are slated to have one of the strongest years ever. Demand for SUVs and trucks continue to drive the market, which resulted in several top automakers posting higher sales”, said Mark Williams, an analyst for Kelley Blue Book.

At the level of industry, auto sales have increased 3.9% to 1.48 million last month, it is considered to be biggest June since 2006. It is expected that new products and increasing consumer confidence will push further in the rest of the year.

Kurt McNeil, GM's U.S. vice president of sales operations said that they are very happy with the sales. It would not be wrong to affirm that these were the best six months in a decade. Seeing the sales, they are hoping that the second half of the year will also be strong.

Nissan Motor Co. has reported a 13% rise and Honda Motors Co. has witnesses a rise of 4.2%. Toyota Motor Corp. sales increased a 4.1%.
