Stewards' decision keeps Rosberg in fifth

Suzuka, Japan  - Race stewards from the Japanese Grand Prix decided not to penalize German Williams driver Nico Rosberg for ignoring yellow flags during Sunday's race.

Rosberg acted as can be expected under the circumstances, race stewards said in their decision.

Their decision quashed any hopes the championship leading Brawn GP driver Jenson Button had on gaining a further point in the championship race.

The Briton, who finished eighth on Sunday and would have gotten an extra point if Rosberg had been penalized, leads the drivers' standings with 85 points from his team-mate Rubens Barrichello, who is on 71.

German Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel, who won the Japanese Grand Prix, is a further two points behind.  dpa
