Steve Jobs’ memorial held at Memorial Church
A memorial service was held for late former chief of Apple, Steve Jobs at Stanford University's Memorial Church on Sunday evening.
Hundreds of persons from the technology field attended the memorial and paid their tributes to the legendary leader. The event comes ahead of company memorial scheduled for Wednesday. The memorial service was kept in secrecy and anyone passing was simply told that the area will remain closed for few hours.
Professionals from technology and media were expected to be present at the memorial. A walking path near the church was lit with small white lights. The invites showed that the memorial was expected to be followed by a reception on campus.
Mr. Jobs had been on a medical leave from the company since months after he was treated for with pancreatic cancer. He is seen as a visionary behind most successful products from the company including the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and Apple's iTunes music store. He was mainly responsible for turning around the company from almost bankruptcy to a high profitable enterprise.
Under his leadership, Apple emerged as the biggest technology firm in the world by overtaking software giant, Microsoft.
