Sterlite Technologies wins order worth Rs 254 crore from Power Grid

Sterlite Technologies wins order worth Rs 254 crore from Power GridGlobal wire and cable solutions provider for the power and telecom industry, Sterlite Technologies Limited, has received an order worth Rs 254 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL).

Under the contract, the company will supply Sterlite's ACSR Moose power conductors to Power Grid Corp.

As per PGCIL's requirement, about 60% of the contract value would be executed within this year.

Sterlite Technologies, a part of Sterlite group, has a world-class optical fiber manufacturing plant in Aurangabad, India, and telecom cable and power transmission conductor facilities in Silvassa and Haridwar, India.

The company has a strong order book valued at approximately Rs 1400 crore (US$304mn) till date.

In Friday's meltdown, the scrip of the company slipped 15 per cent to Rs 118 at the close of trading session with over 4,89,000 shares changing hands on the BSE.
