Sri Lanka elects to bowl first against BangladeshSri Lankan team led by skipper Kumar Sangakkara has opted to bat first against Bangladesh in the first ODI of the tri-nation one day international series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka today.

Dew factor forced Sangakkara to opt for putting Bangladesh team to bat first as dew will be an important factor for the team bowling second in the match and it will not be easy for the bowlers to grip the wet ball.

Fast bowler Shafiul Islam has made debut in the international cricket with this match. Islam has impressed with his performance in the domestic cricket in the recent past. On the other side, Sri Lankan team has included right handed batsman Chamara Silva to strengthen the middle order.

Sri Lanka team includes Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Tilan Samaraweera, Thilina Kandamby, Chamara Silva, Muthumudalige Pushpakumara, Suraj Randiv, Suranga Lakmal, Nuwan Kulasekera and Chanaka Welegedara.
