Dortmund - South African footballer Delron Buckley has left Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for second division Mainz 05, Dortmund announced on Tuesday.

The deal was finalized before the winter transfer window closed on Monday night. No financial details were given.

South African international Buckley, 31, was rarely fielded in Dortmund this season under coach Juergen Klopp. (dpa)
