Sony unveils three new Android handsets: Xperia T, V, and J

Sony unveils three new Android handsets: Xperia T, V, and JAfter two new-handset announcements apiece at the CES and the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, Sony unveiled three new Android-based handsets – the impressive flagship Xperia T; the Xperia V with LTE 4G; and the entry-level Xperia J - at the IFA trade show in Berlin on Wednesday.

The most attractive of the three newly-unveiled smartphones from Sony is the Xperia T, which boasts a 4.6-inch screen; 1.5GHz, dual-core processor; HDMI; NFC support; compatibility with Sony's PlayStation apps; and a 13-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording.

The second new smartphone, the Xperia V, will have almost the same features as the Xperia T, though its display will be a step down to 4.3 inches. However, the handset will boast the addition of LTE 4G, and will also be a water-resistant device.

While both Xperia T and Xperia V will initially be shipped with the Android OS 4.0 ‘Ice cream Sandwich’ version, Sony has revealed that the handsets will be updated to the latest Android 4.1 ‘Jelly Bean’ version down the line.

In addition, according to Sony, one of the most noteworthy features of Xperia T and Xperia V will be what the company calls ‘One Touch’ which, with the help of NFC, will give the users the ability to "touch one to another to establish a wireless connection without a cumbersome pairing process."

Meanwhile, as compared to the Xperia T and Xperia V, the new Xperia J will essentially be an entry-level handset, which will have a 4-inch screen and a 5-megapixel camera.
