Sony Launches VAIO FW Notebook with world's first 16.4 inch displayGood news for video lovers. Sony has launched its new 16.4 inch VAIO FW Notebook that enables you to view Blue-ray Disc HD in full 1080 resolution when connected to an HDTV.

The VAIO FW notebook comes with world's first 16.4 inch display, and this extra wide LCD is constructed with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is the standard used while shooting HD movies.

The premium model is powered by Intel Centrino 2, and features Sony's patented XBRITE-HiColour LCD technology for sharper picture.

The VAIO FW Notebook is preloaded with three entertainment software applications, The VAIO Movie Story software, VAIO MusicBox software and the Click to Disc/Editor software, allowing users to make high quality home movies, enjoy music based on their mood and to edit and create DVD/BD video..

It also features the VAIO Media software, which enables users to wirelessly stream content stored on the PC throughout their home network.

Other features include, external memory support with multiple ports and jacks, including Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, and i.Link Ieee-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack, and a 34mm ExpressCard slot. Almost all FW notebooks are eco-friendly with Energy Star 4.0 compliance.

The expected retail price of the Sony VAIO FW Notebook is $1,000 while the premium edition may cost somewhere around $1,750.
