SkyDrive upgrade brings additional storage, featuresSoftware giant, Microsoft has upgraded its cloud storage service SkyDrive to offer a host of new features as well as additional storage space to the users.

The total storage space available for the users of SkyDrive Pro service has been increased from 7GB to 25GB. Microsoft announced the upgrades for the service on Tuesday allowing users to store a larger amount of data on the cloud based service. SkyDrive Pro service is a store 'n' sync product offering allowing users to store data on a secure cloud service and also get copy on their local devices.

The company also said that the admins will be able to increase SkyDrive Pro storage up-to 50GB and 100GB for individuals with larger data requirements. The service costs $0.20 per gigabyte per month beyond the default costs. The service will now allow persons to sync a maximum of 20,000 documents using the SkyDrive Pro Sync client while the number for will be 5,000 for team sites.

The move comes after rival Box also increased its free service from 5GB to 10GB for its users in the market.
