Sheila Dikshit criticises politicising terrorism

Congress PartyNew Delhi, Dec 8 : Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today severely criticised politicizing the issue of terrorism.

She was speaking to the media even as the results of the assembly polls were trickling in.

According to initial reports, Congress was leading in Delhi, Rajasthan and Mizoram while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was ahead in Madhya Pradesh and in Chhattisgarh.

The main opposition BJP during its election campaigning had slammed the Congress for failing to check terror incidences in the country.

"As far the issue of terrorism is concerned, it is an attack on the country and it should be treated like that. In next five years, we would continue the development and improvement in the quality of life. We have some challenges," said Sheila.

Holding their party flags, supporters of the Congress party danced as they celebrated their party''s victory.

Five states went to polls ahead of the countrywide general elections in early 2009 that will pit the ruling Congress-led coalition against the main opposition alliance led by BJP. (ANI)
