Sharif welcomes Benazir’s demand for Musharraf’s resignation

PML-N chief Nawaz SharifLahore, Nov 14: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif has welcomed former premier Benazir Bhutto’s demand that President General Pervez Musharraf should resign from both offices.

Sharif also called it “a positive development”.

According to Geo News, Benazir contacted Sharif, Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Imran Khan to which they responded positively.

Qazi had told Benazir that her independent efforts in the prevailing situation would only damage the opposition’s cause, the Daily Times reported.

Qazi has also urged Benazir to hold an All Parties Conference (APC) under the joint banner of the ARD and the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) to chalk out a strategy.

Benazir has assured Qazi that her party had ended all contact with the Musharraf regime and that she was ready to cooperate with the opposition. (ANI)
