Sensex Surges 119.86 Pts In Early TradeThe 30-share index BSE Sensex today declined a bit during morning trade after breaking the 20K mark shortly after belling the day at 20,038.66.

The Sensex stood at 19,969.86 points after surging 119.86 points (0.6%) as against its last closure at 19,850.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broad-based Nifty surged 0.62% to trade at 5,997.8 points.

The BSE midcap index gained 1.09% and the BSE smallcap index remained up by 1.52%.

On Wednesday, the Sensex closed 328.75 points up at 19,850.

The Nifty surged 98.20 points (1.67%) to trade at 5,960.90.

The top gainers in the 30-share index on Wednesday included Cipla (6.30%), Tata Steel (5.04%), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.53%), Tata Motors (4.13%), Larsen & Toubro (4.04%), and Reliance Communications (3.94%).

The top losers in the Sensex pack comprised Bharti Airtel (2.51%), Hero Honda Motors (2.28%), Wipro (1.34%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.77%), Hindustan Unilever (0.57%), and Tata Consultancy Services (0.07%).
