Sensex ends flat, consumer durables gain
The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark index Sensex fell flat for the Indian equities in today's trade which started at an awfully volatile mode in the morning.
The FMCG stocks brought down the Indian markets, while on the other hand the consumer durables increased handsomely by big points with the PSU scripts making large gains and seeing a lot of profits.
The 30-scrip sensitive index, that is the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (or BSE), started off the day with an opening of 18,400.33 points, and ended the day at 18,398.91 points, which is almost the same with no variance as its former close at 18,401.82 points.
Meanwhile, at the National Stock Exchange (or NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX index Nifty closed trade at 0.19 per cent more than its previous close ending at 5,540.9 points.
Also, the broader markets indices showed better performance as the BSE midcap index shut shop and closed its trade at a 0.75 per cent up and the BSE Smallcap index also closed trade with 0.92 per cent more in its trade ending.
