Sensex Dull In Opening Trade
The 30-share index Sensex on Thursday was trading on a flat note during early trade today.
The Sensex, which belled the day at 20,930.45, stood at 20,881.42 points after making a slight gain of 5.71 points (0.03%) as against its last closure at 20,875.71.
In contrast, the broad-based Nifty was trading 0.08% up at 6,280.75.
The BSE Midcap index was trading 0.47% up and the BSE smallcap index gained 0.73%.
On Wednesday (Nov 10), Indian bourses closed the session on a lower note owing to lack of buying interest at upper levels.
Pessimistic European markets also weakened the overall responses.
Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex marked its closure after declining 58.05 points at 20874.43.
It hit an intraday high of 20970.91 and an intraday low of 20858.24.
National Stock Exchange's Nifty closed the day at 6275.45 after shedding 26.10 points.
The Nifty hit an intraday high of 6307.65 and an intraday low of 6269.25.
The BSE Midcap Index remained up by 0.31% and the BSE Smallcap Index climbed 0.87%.
Amongst the sectoral indices, BSE FMCG Index shed 1.03%, BSE Bankex fell 0.73% and Capital Goods Index dropped 0.70%.
The BSE Auto Index remained up by 1.12%.
