Sensex Down 81.30 Pts At 9,758.39The Sensex recovered its early losses and trying to make headway towards positive terrain.

Realty, auto and FMCG stocks led the declining charts, whereas IT stocks gained ground. BSE Midcap and Smallcap index lost 0.85% and 0.87% respectively.

With no great triggers on the way, the mood remains quite watchful on the bourses today.

Indian stock market belled the day negatively at 9,683.75 after losing 155.94 points on the previous working day. In the previous day session, the Sensex settled with a loss of 696.47 points, or 6.61%, while the NSE Nifty declined by 209.60 points, or 6.66%.

At 11.04 a.m., the 30-share index Sensex lost 81.30 points at 9,758.39 after hitting a high of 9,891.47 and a low of 9,559.33.

In the meantime, the broad based Nifty stood at 2,901.80, down 36.85 points, after touching a high of 2,952.70 and a low of 2,855.05.

The overall breadth of the market was negative. Out of the total 1,937 stocks traded at BSE, 681 advanced, 1,193 declined while 63 remained unchanged.

The major gainers’ in the 30-share index were Tata Power Company (2.83%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.96%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.48%), Wipro (0.93%), NTPC (0.92%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.92%).

On the other hand, DLF (4.88%), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.66%), Sterlite Industries (India) (4.37%), Hindustan Unilever (4.36%), Maruti Suzuki India (3.83%), and ICICI Bank (3.54%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.

General:
