Sensex Down 45.69 Points; Auto, FMCG SlipThe Sensex was trading in the negative owing to profit booking witnessed in select frontliners.

Real estate, banking and auto stocks dangled, whereas FMCG and power scrips went up.

At 2:28 p. m., the Sensex was declined 45.69 points to trade at 17,699.59. In the meantime, the Nifty lost 15.10 points at 5,307.35.

The overall market breadth was pessimistic with 1,307 advancements as compared to 1,561 declinations.

The Realty index stood at 3,491.71, down 48.46 points. The Bankex index declined 88.33 points at 11,047.08.

The Auto index stood at 7,702.29, down 52.09 points. In contrast, the FMCG index was at 2,905.55, up 16.88 points.

RIL dropped 26.95 points followed by ICICI Bank (-15.22 points), SBI (-13.14 points), Maruti (-9.74 points) and HDFC Bank (-8.01 points).

But, ONGC rose 15.99 points in the Sensex accompanied by ITC (+12.45 points), HDFC (+11.23 points), L&T (+7.47 points) and M&M (+4.61 points). (With Inputs from Agencies)
