Sensex Bounces Back; Down 125.94 PtsThe Sensex bounced back and was trading off from day’s low this afternoon.

Buying and selling was witnessed in some of the select stocks. IT, metal, banking, power and realty stocks led the declining charts.

BSE Midcap gained 0.43% and 1.04% respectively.

Among the sectoral indices, BSE IT index hit badly after plunging 3.84% followed by Metal, which declined 2.49%, Power and Bankex lost more than 2% each.

The 30-share index, BSE Sensex, today (Dec 12), belled the day with a loss of 274.59 points, at 9,370.87.

At 1.44 p.m., the 30-share index Sensex was down 125.94 points at 9,519.52. It also hit a high of 9,543.99 and a low of 9,281.89.

Meanwhile the broad based Nifty lost 58.20 points at 2,861.95, after touching a high of 2,917.95 and a low of 2,812.55.

Market breadth was flat on the BSE with 1,243 advances and 958 declines.

Major gainers in the 30-share index were Reliance Industries (1.27%), Reliance Energy (1.18%), Larsen & Toubro (1.06%), Tata Power Company (0.97%), ACC (0.76%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.69%).

On the other hand, the biggest losers in the Sensex were Wipro (5.72%), Tata Motors (5.61%), Tata Consultancy Services (4.98%), Grasim Industries (3.55%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (3.54%), and Infosys Technologies (3.39%).

The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) for the month of October turned negative to 2.2%, as against 12.2% during the corresponding period a year ago.

On the other hand, manufacturing production fell 1.2 per cent in October from a year earlier.
