The 30-share index Sensex was trading on a calm note, up 31 points as compared to its earlier closure.

The Sensex, which belled the day at 19,476.93, surged 30.59 points to trade at 19,532.7 as against its last close at 19,502.11.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broad-based Nifty was trading on a flat note at this time.

The BSE midcap index gained 0.29% and the BSE smallcap index remained up by 0.46%.

On Wednesday, the Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange belled the day at 19,343.74.

At last, it ended at 19,502.11, up 155.15 points (0.8%) as against its last closure at 19,346.96.

On the third trading day, the Sensex gained on the back of continued capital inflows, even as most worldwide stock markets remained sideways.

The Nifty closed the day after gaining 1.13% at 5,860.95.

The BSE midcap ended the day on a flat note and the BSE smallcap index declined 0.09%.
