Sensex At 18,121.68; Nifty Up By 0.06%
Indian stock markets were trading on a weak note during early trade today.
The 30 share index BSE Sensex, which belled the day at 18,113.73, stood at 18,121.68, up 31.06 points (0.17%) as against its last closure at 18,090.62.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also ruling on a weak note.
In the meantime, the Nifty surged just 0.06% to trade at 5,435.4.
Broader markets were trading in a flat note too.
On Wednesday (February 02), the Sensex reversed its five-session losing streak after gaining 68 points in the end to mark its closure at 18,090.62.
However, the stock market saw heavy selling action during late hours when the news came out that A Raja was detained by CBI.
In just one-and-half hours of trade, the 30-share index Sensex declined around 250 points.
On Wednesday, among the telecommunication scrips of top firms, while Bharti Airtel rallied 2.8%, RCom shed 1.1% and Idea ened the day after registering a gain of 3.5%.
Scrips of Unitech ended 5.1% up, while DB realty shut its shop at Rs 151.
Market dealers stated that these scrips will be closely watched when markets open on Thursday.
