London, Sept 14: Seeing soccer ace David Beckham in nothing but a towel turned out to be one of those few moments when Brit chat show host Michael Parkinson was left speechless.

Parkinson, who has interviewed people from Fred Astaire to Muhammad Ali, George Best to Nelson Mandela, revealed that the incident happened when he was interviewing Becks for the second time.

As it turns out, Beckham decided to take a shower before the show but since the showers in the bathroom in his dressing room were not working, he decided to go bathe in Parkinson’s room.

“The second time I interviewed David I had a dressing room next door to him. The showers weren’t working properly and he came round just in his pants and knocked on my door,” The Sun quoted Parkinson, as saying.

“He’s got a great body — he’s very lean. He’s standing there looking like an archangel and says, ‘Can I use your shower?’

“He got out of my shower, put the towel around his waist and walked out to his dressing room just as a secretary passed by carrying an armful of files.

“She saw the most famous man in Britain standing in a towel and went, ‘Oh!’ and all the papers went flying.

“We helped her clear up and as she walked past me, she said, ‘And me, a married woman!’ What a wonderful line!” (With Inputs from ANI)
